Dot-lined Wave
I found this Dot-lined Wave moth in the backyard a few days ago. It looks so delicate, especially with the pale wavy lines that run along its forewings and hindwings. This is a species I have seen before, though the only observation I can find among my records is from a few years ago, before I really started learning moths. I was a little surprised to see it resting on top of a leaf out in the open, in broad daylight. Then again, its pale color might suggest a fallen petal or a splash of bird excrement to a potential predator.
